Happy 6th Birthday Ashlie!!!

Today is Ashlie's 6th birthday. I can't believe that she is already six. It seems like just yesterday we were coming home from the hospital. It seems like it was just yesterday that she was learning how to walk, and talk. We sure miss words like "coke" which was her way of saying milk (I know it sounds so much alike), and "cuke" instead of cute. She is such a sweetheart, and always willing to be a BIG helper. You might say that Cade and Isaac have two moms, me and her. She loves school, loves learning to read, and loves being ADORABLE!! We are so happy she is a part of our family. We LOVE you, Ashlie!!

Happy Thanksgiving and More

We had a GREAT Thanksgiving with family. We had fun seeing many on my side of the family and spending time with them. We ate, ate, ate, did crafts, went on a photo scavenger hunt, went to the lights at Temple Square, went black Friday shopping (well I did, Dan and the kids slept instead), and just enjoyed our vacation. We were put in different groups for the scavenger hunt. We had the boy group and my nephew came up with the name Manchester United for our team name. It was a lot of fun. I would be a disgrace to our family if I didn't mention that Dan also got to go to the BYU vs. Utah game and see the Cougars beat the Utes.In a small way we are glad to be back home to a routine, and Isaac is glad to be back to his old escapades. I was checking my email this morning and heard some dishes being clanged together, I thought I had better go investigate, and when I did I found Isaac stuck in the kitchen sink. He was not happy about it either. He doesn't miss a beat, always keeping his mother on her toes.

We tried on our Halloween Costumes. I bet you can't wait to see what they look like, but you will have to. The anticipation is going to kill you, I am sure.
Day 24
We read Halloween books.
Day 23
We were at my sister Sara's house. We played Halloween Bingo with the cousins, and had a cookie caterpillar. It was yummy.(I wish I had taken a picture, but I didn't. It was in the Pillsbury Halloween magazine, so you might be able to find it online).
Day 22
Traveled to Utah, and the kids colored in their new Halloween coloring books.
Day 21
Went to the pumpkin patch and found pumpkins.
We got rained on, but still had a lot of fun.
Day 20
A good friend came over for lunch. We had Halloween shaped macaroni and cheese, we colored pumpkin pictures, played a Halloween game, and decorated cupcakes.
Day19
We made place mats for the upcoming Spooky Lunch. We had to postpone it because of people being sick, but it is this coming Tuesday. We can't wait.

Check out our monster mash video below. We also made monster cookies. (Yummy peanut butter, oats, m & m's, and chocolate chips, who could ask for more in a cookie?) We made cookies with Halloween music playing in the background. You should see the kids groove to Thriller. Even Isaac got into it.

Day 9 & 10 of 31 Days of Halloween

Day 10
PUMPKINS

Not so much an activity with the kids, but today I made stuffed pumpkins. I got the idea at one of my favorite blogs, found here. I am going to put them on top of my TV stand with autumn garland and wood blocks that spell out Autumn. When I get it done, I will try and post a picture of the finished product.

Day 9

Coloring Halloween pictures
We went a little low key today and printed off Halloween pictures to color.

Day 8 of 31 Days of Halloween

Monster Friends
We made Ashlie and Cade stuffed monsters. They got to choose which material they wanted, ribbons, eyes etc. I sewed; they stuffed, and in the end they ended up with little monster friends. Yes, Ashlie's is wearing a tutu. She had to make her monster pretty, not scary. Isaac was asleep during this activity, and I didn't make him one, but he had to be in the picture.
