Happy Happy Birthday Cade!!

Cade turned 3 on Saturday March 28. He actually got to celebrate twice this year. We celebrated his birthday at our house on the 26th with presents and a rocket ship cake. He got to celebrate again at my sister Sara's house on Saturday (we lucked out that my brother Dave was blessing his baby girl on Sunday). Cade was so excited to spend his birthday with cousins. He woke up to streamers and a big birthday sign. We even went to meet Spiderman that afternoon. We ended the night with a Batman cake and ice cream. We love having Cade and all of his three-year old energy at our house. Happy Birthday Cade!!!

Let's Go Fly a Kite

I guess we have found one (but really only one) good reason for the constant wind we experience here in Idaho. You can usually pick any day to fly kites. Ashlie and Cade picked out their kites and waited patiently for their Dad to help them fly their kites. Poor kids have a mom who does not remember ever flying a kite as a kid and I was scared that I wouldn't be able to figure it out. I guess it really isn't that hard. We got a good half hour of kite flying in before the rain hit, and the kids loved it. The dollar kites even held up enough that we will be able to use them more than once :).

First Haircut

Isaac has now had his official first haircut. Yes, I know by looking at pictures of the kid you would think he was bald, but he did have a lovely tuft of long blonde hair around the sides of his head. He didn't have much to cut, but it was definitely long in spots. He didn't even get scared of the clippers, but instead was interested in what was making that cool sound.
This picture is a before picture taken a couple of weeks ago when Ashlie decided Isaac would look cute if she tried to spike his hair (she remembered how cute her cousin Landry always looked with his spiked hair) She used plenty of lotion to make this Mohawk and the picture does not do it justice.
This is an after shot of the handsome and chubby kid with his new hair do. His Dad did such a great job on the first haircut. I am glad he doesn't look bald. And he can now even do the spikes, not Mohawks, but spikes.

Welcome to Vegas

This past weekend me and my four sisters went to Las Vegas for our sisters party. I had so much fun. We left kids at home with their Dads and had a blast. We got to go shopping, eat out (not once did I have to ask for a kids menu and crayons), we did pedicures, we got to see the fountains at the Belagio, and I even got to be reminded of the good old days and sleep in a bunkbed. It was so much fun to get together and talk, talk, talk. We also did a TON of laughing. I will have to tell you I think I will never forget the face of the old guy that gave my sister her pedicure and how he would just look up at her and laugh because the pedicure tickled so bad. After we were done we went out in the parking lot to take a picture of our toes and one of the guys who did the pedicures came out and was watching us and laughing, he gave us a big grin and waved. It was so funny. Anyway, the weekend was sooooo much fun. Thanks sisters for making it such a blast.

Our Little Stars

We are getting them ready for American Idol Season19 :) They already now how to make a song their own. They have changed a few words, and have done their own spin on the melody. Notice Cade and his cool moves on his "guitar" (light saber) at the end of the song.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Today is Dr. Seuss' birthday. We decided that it was a good excuse for a party. We got a great idea from my sister Sara to make Dr. Seuss hats, so we did. I think there are things I would change for next year (for example, I would make sure to have plain paper plates, but the flowers add something to it doesn't it?). The kids had fun making them, Ashlie even had to draw the cat in the hat on her hat, and a football, basketball, and baseball on Cade's. Isaac was a party pooper and wouldn't even wear the hat for long enough to get a real good picture, but I did my best. Tonight for FHE we are going to watch "Horton Hears a Who" of course in our house you can't do that without treats, so there will of course be treats, and for dinner a pizza party. Hooray for Dr. Seuss' birthday.
