Dan finally just took the boys and walked and Ashlie, Kelsie and I stayed on the trailer until it got unstuck. We looked for our pumpkins in the dark, and used the flash from our camera to find them. It was a party. We really did have fun, it was just a crazy night.

Summer 2011 in Review/The start of a new school year

We had a crazy summer. We started off with the birth of baby number 4, Kelsie. When she hit 3 weeks we made a trip to BYU, the kids loved to see family, and also to see the place where the cougars play football. Isaac was excited when he got out of the car and saw the "Y" on the mountain. He couldn't believe his eyes. He just kept saying, "Look mom, it is a Y, for BYU." Their dad indoctrinates them early :) This summer we created a summer fun list. Now that summer is over we did nearly everything on our list, but still missed a few. We did things like a drive-in movie for the first time, go to the water park, homemade pudding pops, family bike ride, picnics, homemade slushies, make strawberry jam, Toy Story marathon, feed the ducks, back yard camp out, and swimming lessons. Hopefully the kids loved the summer. To be honest with a newborn, the summer feels as though it went by quickly and in a haze. We blessed Kelsie in July and had lots of family here to spend time with. It was fun to have people come to visit, and would welcome visitors anytime.

Now we are back in school. Ashlie in the 2nd grade, and Cade started kindergarten. So far they both love it.

Back to school also means BYU football, which is a big deal around this house. This year the kids each got a new BYU pajama shirt to wear the night before the game, to give the team good luck. They also got some "true blue pills" to make them even more true blue fans. Cade would eat some and say, "I feel more blue already. I am getting more blue by the second (that is blue in a good way, as in a true fan, not a bad way)."

Kelsie Gwen graced us with her presence at the end of May. She is so sweet, and is loved by everyone. She is a little cuddle bug. Ashlie especially loves her, she has been waiting and waiting to have a little sister. She LOVES to choose out what she wears ever day. Cade and Isaac can't give her enough kisses.

Come a Boy, Leave a Superhero

Cade had his first friend birthday party this last week. He wanted a Superhero theme, so we did a Superhero training camp. I never knew planning a superhero birthday party would be so much fun, but I had such a fun time planning and getting everything ready for his party. It started with a Top Secret file that each boy got; that invited them to training camp. As they arrived they each got a cape and the training began. They learned about super strength, super vision, super speed, and always getting the target. It ended when a super villain hid the cupcakes and they had to put together a puzzle to find them before they got ruined. It is a good thing they found them in the dishwasher before I turned it on. They each went home with goody bags that included Super Punch, Incredible Hulk pills, and Spider man Rolls.

Happy Birthday Cade!!

Cade celebrated his 5th birthday last week (March 28). I can't believe that he is already 5. For his b-day this year he was all about superheroes. He got to celebrate 3 different times, with cupcakes at school, b-day cake he helped to make at Grandma and Grandpa Joneses house. Complete with green frosting, spots (m&ms) and superhero logos. He then got to have a superhero cake on his actual birthday.

At the age of 5 Cade likes dinosaurs, airplanes, rocket ships, superheroes, football and pretty much anything else that is considered to be a "boy" thing. No girl things for him. He is our little comedian and will often say things that will make us laugh, but if you talk about it later he gets embarrassed and tells you to stop talking about him. After going to see Ashlie do ballet he told us ballet was boring, but when he plays football for BYU he is going to make Ashlie come to watch him; because football is sooooooo much more fun than ballet. He is a sweet boy with LOTS of energy, and we LOVE him.
