Since I haven't posted in a long time I thought I would post a couple of funny stories (well we think they were pretty funny) about out kids.
The other day as we were leaving church a good friend of ours went up to Cade and said "smell you later" To this Cade responded with a disgusted look on his face, "I'm not poopy, you are poopy." Cade was horrified at the idea of someone thinking he had an accident in his unders.
The next story comes from Ashlie. Last night as we were eating our family home evening treat Dan started the whole "I 1 the sand box, I 2 the sand box" game. If you haven't ever played you continue until someone says I 8 the sandbox and it sounds like they ATE it. Anyway Dan and I did it once and then Dan said I 1 the doggie do do. To this Ashlie said "how did you win the doggie do do?" and then she said I 8 the doggie do do and started to laugh uncontrollably, without even knowing what she was laughing at. Anyway, it gave us a good laugh. Kids are the greatest and give you some of the best laughs ever.

He's One!!
Isaac turned one last week (Jan. 3) and I cannot believe it. He had a good day complete with presents, cake (an easily made baseball cake) and lots of fun. Cade even helped him open his gifts and even showed him how they worked. He didn't so much like the cake, but he sure loved the icing. After the icing was gone he threw the cake on the ground. Happy Birthday Isaac.

Cookies for Santa Recipe
My good friend Bonnie requested that I post the recipe we used for our cookies for Santa. We made homemade oreos this year and you can make them too, using this recipe. (see picture of cookies below)
1 box Devils food cake mix
2/3 C. shortening
2 eggs
Mix together until well blended. Roll into 1 inch balls. Bake 350 degrees 8-10 min. Cool completely put two cookies together with cream cheese icing in the middle. ENJOY!!
I will warn you that I find these cookies very addicting. I can never eat just one.

Merry Christmas!!
We had a great Christmas here at our house. We had a lot of fun doing our own little thing with our own little traditions. We are thankful for the wonderful feeling and spirit that comes at Christmas time. Here are a few pictures of Christmas at our house. The first is making Christmas cookies. I would like to point out Cade's great smile on his face. The second is Cade and Ashlie next to the plate of cookies for Santa, a carrot for the reindeer, and pink milk. Ashlie has come to believe that if she leaves Santa pink milk he will bring her everything she wants. The next is Cade in his new BYU hat. He LOVES it and wears it all the time now. The last is Isaac trying to open his gift. He couldn't get it open so he just decided to climb up on it and sit on it instead. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and happy New Year.
