Happy Happy Birthday Ashlie!!

Ashlie officially turned five yesterday. I am about to cry that she is getting so big so fast. It seems just like yesterday that she was saying the word "coke" for milk and instead of saying cute she would say "cuke." She is so fun to have around. She had a good day in which she even got to play out in the snow. She decided that she wanted alfredo for dinner and we finished the night off with a Sleeping Beauty cake. Happy Birthday to Ashlie.

Boys will be Boys

I have decided that no matter how young they are boys will be boys. Isaac is now 2 weeks away from his first birthday, but has already decided that he likes to wrestle with his older brother. As you can see from the video Cade is sometimes and easy target. I asked Dan where he learned how to wrestle and he said that he is a boy and that is what boys do.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!! We are nearly a week late, but can say that doesn't make us any less grateful for what we have. We had a small cozy Thanksgiving here at home. It was complete with YUMMY food, turkey nut cups, and Ashlie even made Indian hats for all to wear. I do have to say one of the best things about staying home for Thanksgiving is leftover turkey, FOREVER. Even though we missed family we sure had fun, and Ashlie even said it was the best Thanksgiving ever.

Bella's Dress

So my sister Sara just had a baby girl they named Mirabella. She was daring enough to ask me to make her blessing dress. I said yes, and thought I would post a picture of the finished product, along with a cute picture of the very cute little girl we call Bella.

He's pretty much walking

A few weeks ago I posted a video of Isaac using a walker to walk. Well he has now given up on the walker thing. It gets him stuck too often. He is now walking on his own. Still a little wobbly, but still walking.
P.S. Sorry about the sideways video, but I can not figure out how to turn it the right way.

Happy Halloween

So our family had a fun Halloween. We had a visit from Great Grandma, and Grandpa and Grandma Jones who were flying out to Texas. They brought fruit snacks for the kids and after Cade had eaten two packs himself and we told him no more, he went around asking everyone else if they wanted a pack in hopes they would open it and eat one and share the rest with him. We had pumpkin and bat shaped pizza for dinner, and then we went out trick or treating. Ashlie chose to be Snow White, Cade was Batman, and poor Isaac had to squeeze (when I say squeeze I mean his snaps were popping) into a pumpkin outfit we bought for Cade his first halloween.

Halloween Cupcakes

We brought dinner to a friend who just had a cute baby girl and made these fun cupcakes to bring along. I thought I would post pictures of them just in case someone out there was looking for a fun Halloween treat to make with their kids.
From left to right: bat, mummy, and witch (just in case you couldn't tell)

Pumpkin Patch Fun

Last night for F.H.E. we went to the local pumpkin patch. We took a hay ride, picked out our pumpkins, the kids got to ride on the "cow train" and go through the straw maze. All in all it was a pretty exciting night.

When Dad is Away The Kids and Mom Will Play

So Dan got to go on a camping trip with the scouts tonight, and the kids and I got to have a party. We made the party complete with a tent made from a sheet and the couches. We also tried a new Halloween recipe for a caramel popcorn, mixed with cereal and nuts (it didn't turn out to taste that good, but hey at least we tried). We ended the night with a good old Scooby Doo movie (for some reason my kids LOVE Scooby Doo). Could you ask for any more fun than that? We sure had fun, but are glad Dad is only gone for one night.

Happy Kids Day!!

So yesterday was kids day. Yes there is an actual holiday called kids day. We found it in a book we bought Dan's mom for mothers day. It is the second Sunday in October, so yesterday we celebrated kids day. The kids got to choose dinner, they wanted pizza and fruit with fruit dip, I know that is a fancy Sunday dinner. They each also got a present, and have been playing with them non stop since. So Happy Kids Day to all you kids out there.
P.S. I know Cade is just in a shirt and unders, but we have been potty training, and for some reason now he thinks if he is at home he doesn't have to wear pants. We have got to try and fix that problem sometime soon.

Pumpkin Fun

When I was a kid we had a huge window next to our front door. My mom each year at Halloween would make a giant pumpkin out of orange butcher paper to fill that window. We thought this year we would try something similar in the window above our front door. With lots of help from Ashlie and Cade we made the following Spooky Halloween display. It looks a lot cooler in the dark. Wish you all could see this masterpiece in person, but a picture will have to do for most of you. I would like to make note of the "Y" pumpkin football, ALL Cade's idea. His dad has taught him early.

For the First Time

I know the title sounds like some kind of love song, but we had two first time events happen this past week. First, Ashlie went to her first day of preschool. Ashlie was so excited to go that she woke up early, got dressed and came in to ask me if it was time to go to preschool yet. Too bad she doesn't go until 12:00. She loved her first day and was not a bit sad to leave, Cade on the other hand had a hard time with Ashlie being gone, and kept asking for "Bashie" (that is Cade for Ashlie) to come home. This past weekend we also decided to take the whole family camping. We hadn't been camping since the fun carefree days of MSA and MSA camp outs. It was definitely time to take Cade and Isaac on their first camping trips. It was quite the adventure. We had a hard time finding a camp site. It definitely was not like Logan Canyon, but eventually we pulled into a campsite and made it our own. The night was complete with hot dogs and smores, and we ended the trip with a small hike with the kids. All in all it was a fun time.

A Sports Filled Weekend

So we started out the weekend going to a baseball game with some friends of ours. Ashlie wasn't so excited about the game, but loved being with her friend Lizzie, eating snowcones and getting to meet the big Hawk that was walking around the game. The night ended with a fireworks show. Saturday as most of you know was opening day for BYU football. We had our own little annual kickoff party complete with a BBQ, chips and dip, soda and lots of treats. All week Dan has been getting the kids excited for BYU football. Cade runs around yelling "go cougars" and singing his BYU song (if you missed it, it is in an earlier post called, this should make daddy proud), while on the other hand Ashlie one night informed her dad that she did not like football, but she liked Barbies. She then informed him that while he was watching football she would be watching Sleeping Beauty, which she did. We were glad at our house for a win from the cougars. Sleeping Beauty party, complete with a tea party, and whoppers.

GO COUGARS!!!

I thought I would add this post because Dan hasn't gotten around to it yet. It is fall and in our house that doesn't only mean the start of school, and way good deals on school supplies, which for some reason I love to buy, even though Ashlie is only going to be in preschool, Fall means BYU Football. So for all you fellow Cougar fans, may it be a wonderful season, and may the fall season be full of happy cheering for those wonderful BYU football players. GO COUGARS!!!

Ashlie's Curtains

So after two years of living here in our house Ashlie finally has curtains up in her bedroom. It didn't take me long at all. Anyway, Amy wanted to see a picture of them, so here is how they turned out. Thanks Amy for taking me to Jackie's house so I could get this cute idea.

This should make Daddy proud!!

A few posts ago, we posted a "wonderful" picture of Cade in dress up clothes. Needless to say this did not make his Dad very happy, but hopefully this will make up for it. This is what Cade was doing this morning while he was waiting for his breakfast. P.S. for some reason my kids like to make up their own songs.Just in case you couldn't understand him, or you are not sure you really heard what you thought you heard, he is singing about BYU Football. Is he like his father or what?

Cute kids!!!

Well, I thought since it had been a while since I posted something I would post the newest pictures of the kiddos. Aren't they cute? A little explanation of the pictures. Isaac's new favorite places to go are the bathroom(he isn't crawling yet, but he sure scoots fast the second he sees the bathroom door open), and under the dining room table. He slides under the chairs, and then screams when he can't find a way out. It is almost like he is in jail. Ashlie loves her baby brother and is willing to help with Isaac anytime. Cade is just Cade, a wonderful ball of never-ending energy, who loves to eat. He loves to eat cookies, the picture shows him with his messy face, saying I love cookies.
