Happy Anniversary and Breakfast in Bed

Yesterday Dan and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary. This morning we woke up to Ashlie bringing us breakfast in bed. She had gotten up early, figured out how to make toast, complete with butter and jam, and she washed us apples. She had everything on a cookie sheet, along with a vase (a tupperware) full of flowers (a collection of fake flowers including flower clips for her hair). Last night when we were out the babysitter helped them all make cards for us and Ashlie figured out her whole plan. She was so excited to do it that the babysitter said she was having a hard time sleeping. I think she must have thought she wasn't going to wake up in time and we would be up before her. Lucky for her we had a late night out, and she was the first one up. Ashlie and her "vase" of flowers

That is the cutest thing ever. I couldn't imagine my 5 yr. old Shayla coming up with something like that. I do remember one year when I was young trying to make a carrot cake for my parents anneversary. I had no recipe but do remember my sister and I grating the carrots. Too funny!
